Palouse 100% felted wool is made made from virgin Uruguayan wool carefully harvested from humanely-raised (non-mulesed) free range sheep. Rated at 80,000 Martindale Double-Rubs, it is a fantastically sturdy and handsome choice. The felted quality of it also means a natural resistance to liquids, giving you a little extra time to mop up spills before they soak into the fibers. Palouse also meets Oeko Tex Standard 100 certification, so you can feel comfort that it has been tested to be free of chemicals known or suspected to harm humans of any size after production.
For Palouse - and wool fabrics in general - we recommend conscious care to maintain their wonderful quality for years. Hand-wash slipcovers in cold water with minimal agitation, and line dry. Washing Palouse may cause shrinkage of about 7% in length and 3% in width.
Vacuuming every few months (preferably with an upholstery attachment) will keep your upholstery looking its best over time. Dirt and dust contribute to the breakdown of natural fibers, so this simple step can extend the life of your fabric considerably.
